In September 2014, Jim achieved a milestone that marks the pinnacle of recognition for any Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS) member: Accreditation. This coveted honour serves as a testament to his unwavering commitment to the art of cinematography.
With over three decades of hands-on experience behind the camera, Jim's association with the Australian Cinematography Society remains unshakable. In his current capacity as the President of the Western Australian ACS branch, he leads by example, setting the highest standards of professionalism. Additionally, he is an esteemed member of the Perth Professional Film Crew, an organisation that unites the most skilled and dedicated professionals in the industry.

In 2021, he clinched the Western Australian Screen Award for Best Cinematography for "Cowards Punch," and he doubled down with the 2021 ACS State Gold Award for the same project. His exceptional eye for detail also garnered the 2021 ACS State Silver Award for the TV drama series "The Heights."
Jim's legacy extends beyond recent triumphs. He has been honoured with two Gold Awards from the Australian Cinematography Society for his exceptional contributions to "The War That Changed Us" and "Desert Wars." "The War That Changed Us" was additionally adorned with a prestigious Golden Tripod Award. Jim's commitment to excellence remained unwavering, as demonstrated by his 2012 Australian Cinematography Society (ACS) Gold Awards for "Singapore 1942 – End Of Empire" in the Drama Documentary Category and "Crosshairs" in the Short Feature Category. In 2010, Jim kicked off his collection of awards with the ACS Golden Tripod for "The Great Escape – The Reckoning" in the Best Dramatised Documentary category.
